This policy explains what information BirthdayFinds.com ("we", "us", "this site") collects when you use the chat tool or browse the gift guides, and how it's used.
Information we collect
Chat messages. When you use the chat bot, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. We don't require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or any identifying details to use the chat — please avoid entering personal or sensitive information in the chat itself.
Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and performance purposes.
Cookies. This site does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. However, Amazon may set cookies when you click an outbound product link, in line with their own privacy policy, in order to track affiliate referrals.
How we use information
- To generate gift suggestions in response to your chat messages
- To build outbound Amazon search links, including our affiliate tracking ID
- To keep the site secure and functioning correctly
We do not sell your information to third parties.
Third-party services
Chat messages are processed by Anthropic (maker of Claude) in order to generate responses — see Anthropic's Privacy Policy for how they handle data sent to their API.
Product links on this site go to Amazon. Once you leave this site via an affiliate link, Amazon's own Privacy Notice applies. As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases made through those links.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK/EU data protection law regarding any personal data we hold about you. Since this site does not require accounts and does not knowingly store personal data beyond what's needed to serve a chat response, there is generally little to nothing held about you directly — questions can be sent to the contact below.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
